Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

OACC remains focused on the three principal objectives originally proposed with this operating funding: 1) continue our current pilot programs in ways that keep people safe and connected; 2) form the Grow It Well Collaborative to help local artists and culture bearers earn a decent living from their work; and 3) engage artists and culture bearers in strengthening our region's vitality. Our measurable outcomes also remain the same in 2022: Economic change: improved investment, jobs, workforce, wages, population expansion, tourism. Social change: improved health, education, diversity, increases in artists and culture bearers in creative placemaking. Physical change: improved appearance of public spaces, inclusion of arts in new construction and redevelopment. System Change: increased embeddedness/inputs of arts and culture in community development efforts, improved policies/practices to support cross-sector creative placemaking partnerships. OACC's assessment process also remains the same in 2022: working with UMD's Bureau of Business and Economic Research and Extension Economists to assess current economic impact of arts and culture and forecast the future impact of the creative community development, and with the Improve Group to measure OACC's impact on the measurable outcomes stated above.
