ACHF Arts Access
Our goal is to develop an ethical, locally-led, community rooted, sustainable community artist in residence program design that maximizes community resources, sets up logical infrastructure that is efficient to maintain, and lays the groundwork for success ? both here in Granite, and for other communities making use of our shared open-source resources and materials. We hope to set Granite Falls up as the epicenter of a network of communities sharing information and resources freely and openly. What that means for our council directly is the creation of tools that will allow us to support this program, and its continuation into the future. It will allow our members to learn and grow in ways that can be applied to our other community outreach work, and build systems that can be replicated and shared. We will be undertaking an ongoing sourcing of community and City feedback, through surveys and interviews, physical interactive installations, and live roundtables to determine what's both desired and what seems effective in building this program for our community.
We conducted a survey and tabulated the results. The information was very valuable to our organization because we found out that an overwhelming amount of the audience prefers the June timing of the festival over the August time, and we also received feedback on a few additions to the festival that will make the experience better. There was approximately 185 people at the June festival and 88 at the August festival. The June gathering seemed to have a larger percentage of youth and young adults tallying in at 40%.
