I am a part of this community as both a performing artist and an educator. I believe my community has started to recognize my work as a music producer since forming Beats By Girlz. I have added something new and different to the arts culture in this city and am starting to be recognized for that. As the program has grown the community has started to have a better understanding of what electronic music and music production is. They are seeing what these young women are learning and seeing the value of learning how to create with technology, especially living in a world where technology is advancing in every possible way. With this project I am able to show my community how one can be successful in the music industry in a variety of ways. The opportunities that can come from this kind of work can be exposed to the youth in this city as well as other artists that are considering exploring careers in music production. There is composition, sound design, learning software, creating instruments and manipulating sound. It can be really in depth. I can expand my educational curriculum by offering workshops and consultation on music production, publishing and licensing to artists, high school and college students with an interest in those areas. I want to work with a variety of local businesses and incorporate my music performance, production and education. My goal with producing and recording this EP is to showcase and promote new material that portrays a more refined, professional and developed approach to a specific style of electronic music I am composing. In order to achieve this, I intend to: 1. Produce and record 6 new songs designed for the ambient/yoga/fitness market; 2. Submit and digitally distribute the EP to a variety of digital streaming platforms and radio stations; 3. Present the music to TuneCore's Publishing and Synchronization departments at their headquarters in Los Angeles early 2022; 4. Submit the music to other like-minded musicians and producers with the intent of developing collaboration opportunities; 5. Perform this music for live yoga classes and retreats around the country; 6. Get selected on Spotify editorial, yoga and ambient playlists The opportunities I have acquired over the past two years have been monumental in my career development. When I came to the realization that music production is truly where I thrive there was a weight that was lifted and I was elated with a sense of purpose and direction. When I fully embraced that being a music producer and music technology educator is where I want to excel in my career, my drive in pursuing opportunities was stronger than it has been with anything before. I have worked incredibly hard to build an industry network to showcase my work and enthusiasm and it is paying off. The connections I have made and the creative opportunities I have had have changed the direction of my career and opened new doors in ways I had never thought of before. I have been fortunate to receive direct consultation from a highly reputable industry professional with an opportunity and a challenge to show some of my best work. This EP could be the start of a successful new pathway in my career. My methods to measure my outcomes are essentially the same as my goals. The evaluation plan will be to ensure that I have: 1. Produced and recorded 6 songs designed for the ambient/yoga/fitness market; 2. Submitted the EP to a variety of digital streaming platforms and radio stations; 3. Presented the music to TuneCore's Publishing and Synchronization departments at their headquarters in Los Angeles early 2022; 4. My music received sync placement (s) with TuneCore; 5. Submitted the music to other like-minded musicians and producers and acquired new collaboration opportunities; 6. Established ongoing live performances with local and regional yoga studios; 7. Music was selected for Spotify playlists
