My overall goal is to improve my hand-building skills as a ceramicist and have the opportunity to learn from a nationally recognized ceramicist that I highly respect. I desire to incorporate more hand-building techniques into my work and make a significant shift from primarily wheel-thrown, functional pottery to more artistic vessels and forms in my work made. My desired outcome is that taking this class would provide me with a great foundation, increase my confidence in hand-building, and serve as a launching point to take my work to a different direction. I know I will be successful by attending all days of the class and completing the class. Additionally, I know I will be successful when I incorporate the skills I have learned into my own work. Lastly, I know I will be successful if I begin confidently creating and constructing my own hand-built lidded vessels.
