The artist connection I have to the project community is that I am well known and respected as a master birch bark canoe builder, instructor, and cultural presenter. I have 30 years of cultural teaching experience working with all the Ojibwe Bands in northern Minnesota and am often requested to consult, present, and teach. The project will be assessed by listening and recording comments, physical canoe construction progress, and the outcomes measured by documenting the number of participants on a daily basis.
