Security at the office and cabin area's
Due to the significant increase of Veterans participation at the campground, Last year we had over 35,000 visitors, there is a major concern for the safety and security of all of the visitors on the camp. Installing a maintenance free vinyl fence, along the road coming into the camp, along with two barrier arms at the entry point by the camp office would insure controlled access to the camp.
$124,160 the first year is for a grant to the Disabled Veterans Rest Camp on Big Marine Lake in Washington for landscape improvements around the new cabins, including a retaining wall around a water drainage holding pond and security fencing with vehicle control gates along the entrance road.
Principles:
Provide security to Veterans entering the camp.
Provide water drainage and a holding pond.
Outcomes:
With more than 40,000 visitors expected to visit the camp compared to 3000 visitors 12 years ago, this will add additional security for the camp.
After reconstructing our road for the security gates we can redirect the amount of water coming into our new holding water pond before discharging into our culverts.
