ACHF Arts Access
This development project is absolutely vital to provide a firm footing for the future. Funding this effort will give community members a concrete example of how we CAN have a voice in building a better life for our underserved population. This will solidify our vision and mission and prompt other organizations and individuals to become involved in bringing arts and culture to our area. This town has steadily declined in civic pride and involvement over the years; we feel strongly that this new, creative, forward-thinking endeavor will bring light to our community and will encourage the "voiceless" to be part of something new. While our initial goal is to provide a home for art in our area, our long term goal is to spark a renaissance. We intend to hold community meetings to determine what the community needs and will continually seek feedback through surveys and social media tools.
A quote from a participant on the outcomes of attending MACTFest: "I have only been involved in community theatre for a few years and this was the first MACTFest I have ever attended. I really enjoyed being able to see a variety of plays from around the state. It was energizing and great how everyone who was there supported the other groups. The workshops were great as well. The options available meant everyone attending could find something that pertained to them or interested them. It was also nice spending time with members of my own group, learning new things about them and building those relationships as well." Also, for the first time, MASC's production was chosen as second alternate, and the playwright, MASC's own Maureen Keimig, received an award for her script.
