Outcome 2: Regional residents experience a change in knowledge, attitude, behavior or condition due to public art, arts festivals or arts events. A digital survey will be developed in partnership with those leading "We Are Water" at the library which will assess changed or evolved knowledge and the impact on behavior of the participants and audience regarding environmental awareness specifically clean water through the production of Moana Jr. The digital survey will be developed at a later point in the project timeline.
Disney's Moana Jr. musical offered so much in the way of learning about another culture, learning about our environment, and about to be fearless when exploring beyond the limits others impose on us. Through observation of the Moana camp participants during the specialized education regarding water stewardship and the special presentation about the Polynesian culture, it was evident that exposure to the education was presenting new ideas for the kids. One of the ways we know this is by the many questions and the types of questions the kids asked. The participants also were able to perform at the We Are Water Opening Ceremony at the public library and participate in the exhibit and exercises. They were very enthusiastic with their participation.
