Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

8: "Regional residents learn new arts skills and techniques." Understanding about creative limits will be expanded, resulting in new techniques for problem solving and brainstorming. 9: "Regional residents gain awareness and appreciation for a variety of artistic disciplines and mediums." Students will have an appreciation for non-traditional drawing methods. 2: "Regional residents experience a change in knowledge, attitude, behavior or condition due to public art, arts festivals or arts events."Appreciation of installation art, conceptual art, and creative ideation will be increased. The exhibit at the end of the residency will be a good marker of success, and will be visual documentation. It won't be meant to be an art exhibit, rather an "exhibition" of residency residue, an index of notes and sketches, and a place to display photos of the residency that will document and record the events. The gallery talk at the exhibit will be a chance to put context to the objects and ephemera on display ( one can imagine a doodle made out of the welding plasma cutter in sheet metal, or a drawing made with the robot arm from automation). The exhibit will also aestheticize the documents and give an opportunity for communicative clarity. There will also be a short exit survey from the short classroom talks, and a checklist survey at the end of the public lecture.
