Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

1: ?Regional residents experience increased access to the arts via a reduction in geographic, cultural and/or physical barriers.? Rushmore residents will experience access to the arts because all events will be conducted during community events in which residents attend. 2: ?Regional residents experience a change in knowledge, attitude, behavior or condition due to public art, arts festivals or arts events.? Rushmore residents will build a connection to their City Park and Community Gym through the mural creating process. Rushmore residents will experience the process of creating public works together and will give them ownership and a sense of belonging to their community. 4: ?Regional artists expand and improve their work and the way in which they create it.? Regional artists will expand and improve their work through the Retreat workshop with the introduction of the correct materials and process of creating an outdoor mural. I will expand and improve my ability to present and implement public artwork pieces. I will professionally and artistically grow from the process of working together to create a public artwork. I will build a connection as an artist to the community. 8: ?Regional residents learn new arts skills and techniques.?Regional artists will lean new approaches about Public Art through the Round Table discussion and Mural Workshop at the Artist Retreat. I will enhance my approaches to presenting Round Table Discussions and will increase my ability to present mural projects to peers. 11: ?Regional residents build connections to their own and others' cultural heritage through regional arts and cultural events and/or activities.? The Rushmore Mural Workshops participants will build connections to their own and others' cultures as the designs of the murals will be based on designs based on the areas diverse cultures. I will build a legacy with my community and to our diverse population. I will measure my goals through the surveys presented at the workshops, personal interviews at workshops and social media responses will be measured from viewers responses. The best plan for measuring my goals will be from the interaction of the participants during the workshops, the completion of the murals and the installation of the murals. At the Community July Dedication of the mural project, I will have a guest comment book that will be made available for public comment. From this guest book comments I will compile these to ascertain if I reached the stated goals. Artistically, the outcome will be an increased ability to present and implement a public artwork project.
