ACHF Arts Access
ARTS in Ely would like to unify as a collaborative of artists and arts organizations to 1) better communicate with each other, 2) help local artists find others that are doing similar work, 3) help artists visiting from other communities to find local artists with similar interests, 4) help arts organizations find people interested in participating in their productions, work as teachers, or exhibit their work. We will measure the impact of the collaboration with a pre- and post-evaluation. Accomplishing communication and other vital goals requires artists to have the opportunity to gather, face-to-face. A short paper survey at the first meeting will assess some specific goals that were created at our first meeting in 2017. People will be able to rate how well or not they feel we are meeting those first goals. We will also request evaluation of the current state of communication between artists and art organizations. After the two meetings, we will again assess artists and organizations with a short survey to see if communications have improved, can people contact and network with others more easily, can artists share and grow with others doing similar work; is increased communication and networking allowing more artistic work to be done in the community. For the second survey we may use an on-line poll. All results, both written and digital will be compiled and the results sent to all artists. Another good measure of interest in the collaborative and working together is the number of people we hope will show up at the first meeting. We hope to have at least 75 people attend.
The three facilitated Zoom meetings with Springboard were successful in brainstorming ways to increase communications across our arts community. We also came up with good 'next' steps that we had hoped would occur during the summer and fall of 2021. However, spring came and people were getting vaccinated, feeling free to see friends and family and travel again - we lost momentum with our goals. The arts community did not want to give up their new temporary freedom(s) and we could not gather people together during the summer. We have a good foundation of ideas to help connect our arts community when we can gather together again at some point in the future.
