Operating Support
The Tweed Museum of Art functions as an art collecting and teaching institution that promotes learning through collection stewardship, research, and by presenting programs in the visual arts for the engagement of the University and our surrounding communities.

ACHF Arts Access
Expand access to collection by comprehensive documentation and contracting educator services. Improve art experience for persons with disabilities. Increased utilization of art by teachers in curricula and class visits. Educator extends outreach and liaisons with Minnesota schools. Implement accessibility recommendations and visitor survey comments or recommendations to improve art experience. 2: Expand programming and written guides from Native Arts exhibitions to art that aligns with regional communities of interest and University students. Assess activity guides and programming for K-12 through user surveys, interviews with participants and feedback from educators. Monitor attendance and K-12 tours at Tweed.
Art activity guides were produced for children in at-risk environments and videos were produced featuring oral history stories by Carl Gawboy. We received direct feedback from educators participating in family day event at Native housing center, and images of children and parents participating in activities using art guides. For the videos, comments were received from social media. 2: Two University classes selected works from the collection that were exhibited in the new Study Room and utilized by students for class assignments. Faculty from the Art History and Writing Studies classes provided their observations and feedback from their students Students on Tweed's Advisory Board provided their feedback as well as University students on Tweed's programming and Study Room.
