“Regional artists connect to new audiences and/or build relationships that provide artistic growth.” Minnesota artists who exhibit at the Hutchinson center for the arts will create new works to display and share with the audiences from Hutchinson and the surrounding area. “Regional residents gain awareness and appreciation for a variety of artistic disciplines and mediums.” Visitors to the Visual Arts Exhibition Series will view diverse art works from 7 MN artists. “Regional artists build their capacity through professional development.” Artists participating in exhibitions will increase visibility and opportunities. Artists: During post exhibit artist interviews artists will report positive experience installing, presenting and at public reception. 10% of artists will sell work or secure a commission. Audiences: We will see attendance of 30 - 50 visitors to each exhibit - counted by staff/volunteers during reception and gallery hours. Voluntary audience surveys will indicate a 20 - 30 % of our visitors are having new and positive experiences with artists and art works. At least 50% of artists will use the work exhibited at the art center to secure future exhibition opportunities. At least 50% of artists will have an article about their exhibit featured in the local Hutchinson paper. At least 10% of artists will sell artwork during their exhibition.
