ACHF Arts Education
“Regional residents experience a change in knowledge, attitude, behavior or condition due to public art, arts festivals or arts events.” Choir members will experience singing in a large group ensemble and want to continue to participate in choirs in their future. “Regional residents learn new arts skills and techniques.” Choir members will learn correct singing posture and breathing, healthy vocal singing techniques, dynamic and tempo changes, how to read a choral score, and several ways to create harmony (including rounds, ostinatos, and part singing). “Regional residents gain awareness and appreciation for a variety of artistic disciplines and mediums.” Audience will experience a children's choir concert and view it as entertaining and meaningful. Audience will want to support future choir concerts. “Regional residents build connections to their own and others’ cultural heritage through regional arts and cultural events and/or activities.” Choir members will enjoy and learn about different countries/cultures and languages through the music they study. Audience will hear and appreciate the music/languages of other cultures. Choir member responses on a post-concert survey will indicate positive reactions to being in choir and a desire to join a choir in the future. Choir member responses on the post-concert survey will include at least one new skill that they learned over the course of the season. Audience responses to a survey given at the concert will indicate positive reactions to the concert and a desire to attend or support future choir concerts. Survey responses from both choir members and audience will include positive reactions to the music/languages of other countries/cultures.
