With this funding, Homegrown Music Festival is wanting to accomplish the following things: Homegrown wants to gain festival awareness from local college students in both Duluth and Superior. There are thousands of students in our area that are unaware of Homegrown Music Festival. Through continued college residencies, the festival strives to introduce the student population to local music and arts, encouraging them to attend and participate in future events including the Homegrown Music Festival. We also want to continue to build a website and technology platform that is beneficial to the future of Homegrown. With more and more focus on smart phones and websites rather than paper, we want to always strive for that cutting-edge way for people to find and connect with us. Measurable outcomes include attendance at our events to include volunteer sign up as well as hits to our website. Increased festival attendance will also be a measurable outcome. Homegrown Music Festival staff will measure the outcomes from funding through feedback from those who use the website as well as through those who attend our college residencies. Keeping a robust volunteer pool is crucial to the success of Homegrown, and we rely heavily on college students to help fill these areas. Some college students also perform in the arts. These students could take a future spot on a Homegrown stage. At the UMD event we recently held, approximately 500 students were introduced to what Homegrown does; promotes local music. We also will watch closely at traffic patterns to our website and ask users what more they would like to see on our website.
