Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

A diverse audience of Minnesotans will learn and grow by experiencing Asian Indian art and culture through an ancient and expressive form of dance - Kathak. KDT will produce cross-cultural dance programming, outreach and residencies throughout Minnesota, conduct formal surveys to understand participant experiences, and invite feedback in post-show discussions, online, through email, website and social media. 2: KDT will build its capacity to bridge diverse cultures and enhance the Minnesota community through the Kathak arts of dance, music, poetry and storytelling. KDT will add a paid Managing Director position, train the next generation of Kathak dancers in its Apprentice program and Choreographers Lab, increase its revenue from contributed income, and stablish a home base for its Kathak Dance School.

Measurable Outcome(s)

KDT performed and/or led residencies throughout Minnesota and in a virtual space for audiences of varied cultural, economic and artistic backgrounds. KDT conducted surveys following each activity. Respondents ranged in age, race and income bracket due to low fees and accessibility. All of this worked to build KDT's audience and change lives through Kathak. 2: KDT opened a home base in Saint Louis Park and a Woodbury location. This led to increased student numbers. It also hired a school/outreach manager. Opening two studios increased student enrollment by 33% from last year, which led to an increase in earned income. This enabled it to add apprentices and office staff, resulting in the growth of KDT's impact as measured by the range of people served.
