Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Through MPWW classes, new students in seven underserved Minnesota prisons will deepen craft knowledge, learn writing skills, and develop an ongoing habit of art. All instructors will administer formal evaluations twice during each course to assess learning experience and progress. Instructors will also assess first and final drafts of student work. 2: Beginning writers in each class will feel supported, welcomed, and connected to a broader literary community both inside and outside of prison. Evaluations will include questions about new student experience and perceived connection to arts community. We will record the number of first time participants and track their participation in future programming.
