Cuellar will mentor two aspiring potters in a studio residency focused on craft skills, professional development, and community engagement, culminating in a gallery exhibition and presentation and a studio sale and educational public kiln opening.

Two aspiring potters will build skills, confidence and enhance professional development through a working, participatory residency at Cuellar studio. Cuellar conducts weekly reviews and monthly firing critiques, residents’ journal work evaluations, residents journal all residency experiences, and comparative critique of work from beginning and end of project. Final journal based report. 2: Residents present work and engage with community in person through an educational kiln opening and gallery talk, and online through a blog/newsletter. Attendance at gallery exhibition and talk, attendance at studio sale and kiln opening, exhibition and studio sale income results, mailing list and email contacts increase, social media presence increases, and statistics regarding opening newsletter.
Two residents achieved pottery skills and professional development through a residency at Cuellar studio and by setting up their own home studios.
