ACHF Arts Education
Our overarching goal with this project is to present a high quality program with strong artistic and educational content, while at the same time be accessible and enjoyable to all members of our community, regardless of age, ability or level of prior knowledge. We also have a harder to measure, but very important goal, which is to help foster tolerance and respect for people of other cultures. We will ask all the teachers for all participating grades to fill out the teacher evaluation form. We will tell the teachers that they are welcome to have all of their students fill out evaluation forms, but to at least have five students in each class do so. We will also have evaluation forms available to attending seniors and to the public performance audience. These will be gathered and tallied by project director. We will encourage our teachers to have follow-up discussions with their students regarding their impressions of the cultural traditions that were covered by their programs and have then report on those verbally in a post-event staff meeting.
We provided an opportunity for the community to have a multi-cultural event in our own community. We invited all the groups outlined in our application and had a representation from each of the groups in attendance. In providing the educational program to all of our students, we ensured that all of our students received the experience.
