80% of youth will report an increased sense of mastery, in part due to new arts experiences. Keystone will measure student sense of mastery using the SAYO Survey of Afterschool Outcomes, a researched and validated tool developed at the National Institute for Out of School Time.
91% reported they usually have a choice of activities here that they like. 95% reported that the activities here helped them in their schoolwork. We measured Sense of Mastery using two survey items from the Minnesota Afterschool Accreditation Program Youth Survey: 'Do you usually have a choice of activities here that you like to do?' and, 'Do the activities you do here help you in your schoolwork?'
