Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

This Summer Recreation offering represents the only Arts enrichment program in our district. It is the only opportunity for children to explore their skills in acting, singing, theater lighting, etc., as necessary for live dramatic productions. The expected outcomes include learning about stage presence, acting, singing, cooperation, teamwork, memorization of lines, theater sets, make-up and costuming, plus forming new friendships with kids of different ages. We intend to observe and interview students and parents during participation in the Play, and after performances. Questions and responses will either be video recorded or written for submission in the final report. We will also record the number of student participants, parents and audience numbers, as compared with previous years' estimates to report on any intended increase or stabilization of projected participant numbers.

Measurable Outcome(s)

We provided affordable arts by lowering the activity and making it more financially available for all participants in the community. The students learned about stage presence, acting, and memorization of lines, theater sets, make-up and costuming, plus forming new friendships. They were given an evaluation at the end to rate their experience. The students rated acting, memorization of lines and friendships the highest with and students wanted to continue acting and participate in more plays.
