To collect and collate historical photographs, memorabilia, and personal stories in order to preserve the history of the McLeod County Fair. The fair will seek out stories and request historical items, for loan or donation, to the McLeod County Agricultural Association. During the 140th anniversary of the fair, visitors can view a history display. Funds will be used to preserve a piece of Minnesota's heritage in a single collection, while educating the public with displays.
Under Minn. Laws 2011, 1st Special Session, Chapter 6, Article 4, Section 2, Subd. 6, the Minnesota Film and TV Board was appropriated $500,000 the first year and $500,000 the second year for grants to Minnesota residents to create film or television productions that promote Minnesota's cultural heritage and for the film production jobs program under Minnesota Statutes, section 116U.26. This appropriation is available until June 30, 2015.

To design and install climate control that meets museum standards in order to better preserve collections that document African American history in Minnesota.
To restore and stabilize the foundation of the Andrew Peterson Farmstead Barn, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, to be eventually reused as a public park facility.
The DNR is working with local communities and an interagency team to define, prioritize, and establish groundwater management areas in Minnesota. Groundwater management areas will have increased data collection and monitoring that allow the state and local communities to understand water supplies, uses, limitations, and threats to natural resources that depend on groundwater. This information will support detailed aquifer protection plans that ensure equitable and sustainable groundwater and drinking water use for the future.
To conduct an architectural assessment of a roof replacement project for the Great Northern Depot, listed in the National Register of Historic Places and currently in use as the Mille Lacs County Historical Society.
To repair windows and add storms for energy efficiency on the Arnold Schwyzer Summer House, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and used as an environmental learning center.
To partner with local non-profits to bring arts and cultural heritage demonstrations to the Pope County Fair. Demonstrations will range from quilting and spinning to the fine arts, rosemaling, and lefse making.
