To hire a qualified architect to prepare a conditions assessment and planning documents for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, proposed to be used as a community center, and listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
A professional heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) engineer was hired to conduct an HVAC evaluation comparing the relative merits and costs of a conventional HVAC system with a geothermal system. The result was the geothermal system was more expensive with a fifty-year payback term. Purchasing a conventional system was recommended as the upgrade for meeting climate standards.
To capture the experiences of several generations of Kittson County war veterans, six individuals with direct combat or combat support experience, were interviewed. The transcriptions of each first-person narrative were printed and are now part of the Kittson County Historical Society permanent archives. Supplemental materials including photographs and additional information were used to highlight each story and to bring the reader deeper into the stories. A presentation notebook was created and a copy presented to each interviewee.
To broaden public accessibility, KCHS acquired 32 standard history books from the MN History Bookshelf list and an additional 6 more books pertaining to MN history. The books are available at the Kittson County Museum Library.
To contract with qualified professionals to prepare planning documents for the preservation of the Northern Pacific Depot, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, now used for multiple purposes including an Amtrak Station and city history museum.
