The Why Treaties Matter exhibit made possible by previous Legacy funding explores the relationships between Minnesota's Dakota and Ojibwe tribes and the United States Government. The Minnesota Indian Affairs Council and the Humanities Center will take the work and impact of the exhibit deeper by creating a curriculum to complement the exhibit.
To restore the Freeman Doud Cabin and Sunnyside School, located on the Beltrami County fairgrounds. During the fair, visitors will be able to able to observe the log cabin restoration and chinking process. Display boards will depict the history of the cabin, show where it was built on Lake Bemidji, and acquaint people with the importance of preserving this history.

The Greater Litchfield Opera House Association contracted with an experienced historical architect to design and create a work plan to properly guide interior restoration and preserve remaining historic fabric of the Litchfield Opera House, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. A set of interior planning documents were developed for a final report. It will be used for future restoration work.

Completed exterior masonry preservation and rebuild missing entrance column of the Litchfield Opera House which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The building envelope is experiencing disintegrating and spalling masonry, cracks in mortar joints and walls, and possible water intrusion. The project restored the physical and visual integrity of the masonry envelope and remove safety threats caused by the unstable parapet.
To complete stabilization and rehabilitation of the exterior envelope of the Litchfield Opera House, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and used as a community space.
A qualified historical architect was contracted to prepare a Historic Structures Report for the Marine Village Hall in downtown Marine on the St. Croix. The Hall, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, has served as housing for government offices since it's 1888 construction. The completed Report provides the building history as well as a comprehensive analysis of its structural integrity. It also provides professional guidance for assessment and prioritization of future preservation efforts.
