Bloomington Early Childhood Family Center's Kinderprep will bring Children's Theatre Company's storytelling and critical-thinking early childhood program, Early Bridges, to our classroom for twenty sessions.
Barrio Grrrl! with Children's Theatre Company and School. The project will equip 75 children ages 8-14 to better see the power of art to understand their own culture and others. Pre-show presentations, workshops led by teaching artists, and post-show writing workshops will help the children to communicate their own story.
This visual arts education will be incorporated into Wayside’s array of addiction services to assist women with using the arts as a healing tool. This will help reduce barriers to participating in the arts. Classes will take place at Wayside House and at Articulture; childcare will be provided.

Weathering, a new play in-progress written by Harrison David Rivers and directed by Talvin Wilks, explores the histories and health outcomes for mothers of color in America. To generate authentic voice and representation, Penumbra’s developing deep engagement opportunities with Rivers and Minnesota’s healthcare professionals/caregivers with help from black doula/midwife circles, and from this commission’s two official sponsors, Regions Hospital and Healthpartners.
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (Wood) was selected for this project to conduct work in support of the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) program. This project is a multi-phased pilot study to further validate and refine potential locations across Minnesota that may have historically been, or are currently, contaminated with PFAS. The primary objective is to evaluate potential PFAS locations, specifically compost sites, to determine presence or absence of PFAS at each site.
The Perpich Arts Integration Network of Teachers (PAINT) fosters collaborative arts integration in Minnesota through K-12 teacher professional development and funding to schools. With Perpich Center facilitation, teacher teams develop and implement arts-integrated lessons and units. PAINT program components include:
Elders and youths will engage with each other to instill a sense of value and validation of one another’s skills and abilities. Participants will strengthen their proficiency in the Hmong language and Hmong alphabet through these lessons. Youths will learn basic conversational Hmong words and they will be introduced to the Hmong alphabet. The youths will learn the skills of storytelling, singing traditional songs, and making and creating their own paj ntaub.
