Increase visual literacy, research, and technical skills related to photography in ten American Indian youth.In-depth exit interviews conducted with each individual instructor.
After participating in the 10-week course, students exhibited increased knowledge of the fundamentals of photography, particularly portraiture; students, parents and community partners all responded very positively to the culminating exhibition of student work.

Funding for a photography program for Native American high school students. Students will partner with mentors to study the history of Native American portraits and learn the technical and artistic skills necessary to create their own photographs. The program will take place in spring 2013.
